Online TJA chart editor: waveform alignment, drag to edit notes
Edit Taiko no Tatsujin-style TJA charts in the browser: align with the audio waveform, drag notes, batch-edit with a selection box, extend rolls, mark GOGO sections, and loop with A-B. No installation required; save changes back to the chart when done.
The editor is for correcting AI-generated charts: place notes where they sound right and change anything you are not happy with. After saving, the downloaded TJA is the edited version.
Editing features
- Waveform alignment: the chart background can display the audio waveform, making it easy to see at a glance whether notes fall on the onset of a sound. The waveform can be toggled at any time.
- Click and drag: left-click to cycle a note through empty, don, ka, big don, and big ka in order. Drag a note to move it; the default snap is the 16th-note grid, hold Shift to snap to the 48th-note grid instead.
- Box select and batch edit: drag over an empty area to select, then copy, paste, or delete. Press 1 to 4 to change all selected notes to a given type at once.
- Rolls and balloons: after selecting, press R to create a roll, Shift+R for a big roll, and B for a balloon. Drag the end of a roll to extend or shorten it.
- GOGO section: after selecting, press G to set or remove a GOGO section. The editor shows it with an orange background.
- Right-click: right-click a note to delete it; right-clicking the head or tail of a roll deletes the whole roll.
- Undo and redo: Ctrl+Z to undo, Ctrl+Y to redo.
Playback and practice
You can play back in the editor right after editing: space bar plays or pauses, hold Ctrl and click the chart to jump to that position. Playback speed is 0.5x, 0.75x, or 1x; music and hit sound volumes are controlled separately.
The "Practice" panel provides an A-B loop: press [ and ] to set the current position as the start and end points, and press backslash to clear them, so you can loop the same section repeatedly. You can also jump directly to each GOGO section from the list.
When a chart has multiple difficulties, you can switch between them and set the preview start time for the song selection screen (DEMOSTART).
How to open
- After logging in, go to the charting history and find the completed song.
- Click "Edit" on the song; the editor will load the chart and audio file.
- When done, click "Save changes." The downloaded result will be the edited chart.
The edited chart can be used directly on Video Generator or downloaded and placed in a simulator.
Known limitations
- The editor can only open charts you have created in TaikoForge; it cannot load external TJA files for editing.
- The editor changes notes only; BPM and OFFSET cannot be modified here. If those values are wrong, see Adjust OFFSET and BPM.
- Saving overwrites the .tja for this charting result directly. It is recommended to download a backup before making large changes.
- You can still edit the chart after the audio retention period ends, but there will be no music — only hit sounds during playback.
- Keyboard shortcuts require a physical keyboard.
