Getting started

1. Sign up and verify your email

Create an account on the sign-up page. Your 5 free songs are added once you verify your email. After that, the balance is topped up to 5 the first time you visit in each calendar month (UTC).

2. Upload a song

Open the dashboard and pick an audio or video file. Supported: MP3, OGG, M4A (up to 60 MB), WAV, FLAC (up to 300 MB), and videos such as MP4 or MKV (up to 600 MB; only the audio track is used).

If the intro is too long, use "Trim audio" to cut it first. Trimming is free.

3. Pick an engine and difficulty

For your first chart, keep the engine on Auto and leave the star level empty. See Engines and Difficulty and stars when you want to fine-tune.

4. Start charting

Click "Start charting". Most songs finish in under a minute; progress appears under "My Jobs". If a job fails because of a problem on our side, the credit is refunded automatically.

5. Play, edit, download

When the job is done you get these buttons:

• Preview chart: play it in the browser with the D / F / J / K keys.
• Edit: fix notes in the chart editor.
• Download: a zip with the .tja and the audio.
• Lyrics: align lyrics into the chart, see Lyrics.
