Taiko Gameplay Video Generator: 1080p, 9:16 Vertical, Multi-Difficulty
Render a chart made in TaikoForge into a 60fps mp4 gameplay video with hit sounds: 16:9 landscape up to 1080p, or 9:16 portrait for Shorts. Stack multiple difficulties, swap the background image or video, add lyrics and fades.
The Video Generator renders a completed song into a gameplay video. The chart, hit sounds, and combo all match the online player exactly. Output is a 60fps mp4 for download.
Output specifications
- Format: mp4, 60fps, with hit sounds.
- Aspect ratio: 16:9 landscape, or 9:16 portrait for Shorts.
- Quality: 1080p, 720p, or 480p.
1080p is a lossless pass-through — fastest and largest file; 720p and 480p re-encode to a smaller file but take longer.
Layout customization options
- Themes: Festival night, Neon, Sakura, Sunset, Minimal, Deep sea, Aurora, Blaze — 8 options that change only the background color and pattern; notes and layout stay the same.
- Multi-difficulty view: select 2 to 6 difficulties to stack them vertically like a multiplayer screen, arranged from easy to hard. Hit sounds can be toggled individually per difficulty.
- Background: upload an image (JPG, PNG) or video (MP4, MKV). The background can fill the entire screen or appear only above or below the note lane; fill or fit display is also selectable. The background is always dimmed; dimming is adjustable from 10% to 90% to keep notes visible.
- If a video was uploaded during chart authoring, it is automatically used as the background when generating the video — no need to upload it again.
- On-screen elements: the progress bar and timer, combo count, Dancers, and spectrum can each be toggled on or off individually.
- Lyrics: when the chart contains #LYRIC lines, they appear on screen. Font size, position, alignment, text and outline color, outline thickness, and shadow are all adjustable.
- Volume and fade: music and hit sounds have separate volume controls from 0 to 150%; a limiter is applied automatically when hit sounds are dense. Fade-in and fade-out durations are adjustable in seconds; set to 0 to disable. Both video and audio fade together.
How to use
- Select a completed song, then choose a chart file and difficulty.
- Adjust the settings on the right. Preview and output use the same code, so any setting change is reflected in the left-side preview immediately — play it to confirm.
- Click "Generate video". The page shows your position in the queue and the progress; once done, the video plays directly on the page and can also be downloaded.
Settings are saved in your browser, so you don't need to reconfigure them for the next video.
Known limitations
- The source must be a song you created in TaikoForge. Uploading an external TJA to generate a video is not supported.
- Once the audio file's retention period expires, the video can no longer be generated.
- Generating a video does not consume your chart quota, but it uses server compute, so you may need to wait in a queue.
- Lyrics must be written into the chart (#LYRIC) before they appear in the video. You can add them using Lyrics Alignment Tool.
- The notes in the video are rendered from the chart data, not recorded from a simulator's gameplay screen.
